Comments: There's just something about Gran Torino that I love. While the story may not be the most original or new idea in recent years (a tale of race and redemption), it's Clint Eastwood's possible final acting role that makes the film memorable and very affecting. Clint provides much of the humor and heart as the racist war veteran who has no relationship with his own kids, but eventually finds one with two Asian teens that move into the neighborhood. It's easy to relate to Eastwood despite the racial epithets he spews throughout (many of which turn out to be more hilarious rather than offensive), and I was amped for Eastwood to unleash a torrent of kickass. Seeing him beat the snot out of a kid a fourth of his age was sweet as well. Despite some spotty acting by the minor characters (which made me really question some of the casting decisions) and some cruddy dialogue, Gran Torino really affected me. I definitely recommend this one.
